« Mans true condition is to think with
his hands »
Denis de Rougemont, « Penser avec les mains ».
Creation
During the 1980s, a chemist created a
protective skin cream for his daughter, who was suffering from
severe eczema.
Concept
The originality of the formula lay in
the filmogène concept, which proved resistant against all
kinds of aggressions, including the most extreme. Furthermore, its exceptional
qualities earned it a Lépine award.
Hospitals
This concept was tested and then referenced
over a four-year period in French state-run hospitals (Assistance
Publique). The cream was used to protect against the effects of repeated
hand washing, necessary to combat nosocomial infections.
Distribution
in pharmacies
In 1997, the cream was launched in French-speaking
countries under the brand name FILMAGENE®, making
the product available to professionals from all walks of life and to the
general public.
European
expansion
Positioned in the top 25% of hand cream
sales at the start of the year 2000, according to IMS, FILMAGENE
distribution naturally extends to the rest of Europe.
